NAIROBI, KENYA: President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent a message of goodwill and greetings to all Kenyans as they celebrate Christmas.

In a statement from State House, Nairobi, President Kenyatta told all Kenyans to be responsible and desist from activities that may endanger lives during the festive season.

The President said careless driving, excessive alcohol consumption and other socially unacceptable behaviours that infringe on the rights of others should be avoided.

Uhuru directed all security agencies to enforce the law to the letter so as to guarantee peaceful Christmas celebrations.

“Police must show no sympathy to those who violate the law,” he said.

The Head of State told drivers to observe traffic regulations and respect the rights of other road users to ensure road safety.

Uhuru told the public to uphold the true spirit of Christmas of peace, love and goodwill. “Let us demonstrate the Christian values of forgiveness, reconciliation, kindness and service,” he said.

He called on Christians to extend their benevolence and love to the less fortunate in society as a way of reciprocating God’s goodness to mankind.
