Hoteliers within the Amboseli National Park have denied allegations that they were forced to contribute cash for the homecoming ceremony of Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku.
A cross-section of the hoteliers who spoke to The Counties said they felt the government official was one of them and they were happy to support him and welcome him home.
Satao Lodge assistant manager Julius Onuko said nobody was forced to contribute for the homecoming ceremony. He said they did it willingly since ole Lenku was a hotelier.
“The government official was a hotelier and when I heard about his homecoming, I felt it could be wise to support him and welcome him home,” Onuko told The Counties.
