KITUI; KENYA: A dormitory at Kitui High School was on Monday night burnt down.

The dormitory caught fire at around 8pm when the students were in the evening preps.

The Kasina A dormitory was razed down with its roof caving in.

All the students’ belongings including beds were reduced to ashes in the inferno.

The newly posted principal who is one week old in the school, Bernard Mutua, termed the incident as unfortunate as he settles on his new station.

Mr Mutua said it was early to speculate on who the arsonists were but suspected the crime was committed by outsider(s).

Property worth thousands of shillings was destroyed in the fire.

Security personnel are at the scene and investigations have been launched.
