At least 30 drivers were arrested in a crackdown on unsafe vehicles along the busy Mombasa-Malindi Highway.
The operation by the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) targets vehicles that have not complied with the safety rules along the roads.
One of those arrested during the crackdown was a drunk tour van driver. Most of the vehicles nabbed were public service vehicles that had tampered with the speed governors.
Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony Kamitu said those arrested got cash bail.
