A man has been charged with theft of transit goods. Juma Kombo Kuri (above) was charged with stealing 360 bags of coffee worth Sh9,570,960 belonging to Servicoff Company Limited.
Mr Kuri denied the charge before Mombasa Resident Magistrate Lilian Lewa who released him on a cash bail of Sh1,000,000 with an alternative bond of Sh3 million.
The prosecution said the accused was facing a similar charge with others before Principal Magistrate Henry Rotich.
Kuri is said to have stolen the coffee on October 19, 2015, at the Swift Royal yard in Jomvu, Changamwe. -Joackim Bwana
