Kiambu County: Farmers from Kimunyu village in Gatundu are counting losses after five cows were stolen at night and later found slaughtered.
The villagers woke up to the scenes of cow hides and intestines with the carcasses missing after the cows were slaughtered along the banks of River Ng’enda.
Francis Gatonye said he lost three of his dairy cows while Simon Gitau and Oliver Kimani lost a cow each.
Gatundu Deputy OCPD Joseph Githaiga visited the scene and the homes where the animals were stolen and questioned the owners and neighbours.
