Former Tusker Project Fame contestant and radio personality Alvan Love has finally landed a gig after a heartfelt cry for help on social media touched many.
Just few hours after a raw and emotional Facebook post where he detailed his financial struggles and mental anguish, Alvan announced a fresh start with a collaborative partnership with Airport Lounge Wilson Airport, marking his comeback.
He had earlier laid bare his struggles, revealing a debt of over Sh 1million and a sense of hopelessness that had pushed him to the edge.
“I am currently homeless and ready to die,” he wrote, describing how he had been hopping between Airbnbs, unable to afford a permanent home after his own was auctioned two years ago.
He spoke candidly about the pressures of being a firstborn, unable to seek help from his parents, and the toll of personal losses, including his mother’s illness and a destroyed family home.
He called out his creditors and shared his pain, stating, “One man cannot go through all I have been through and still look this good. I have been through everything in this world for one lifetime.”
However, hours later, he returned to social media with an update, announcing his new role.
“Sasa, sababu kumeraruka… lazima maisha ishonwe.”
Through his ALVAN brands collaborations, he will now host vibrant events at the lounge.
“Every Friday, I’ll be hosting—come take the edge off with me. Vibes, stories, and just the right amount of chaos,” he shared.
He also invited businesses to collaborate, emphasising his ability to deliver “visibility, vibes, and value” to make brands “pop in all the right places.”
Social media users urged him to now live within his means since he had previously faced public scrutiny when an Airbnb owner, Immaculate, accused him of unpaid bills.
Others questioned how genuine the cry for help was, or it was another strategy of launching his brand.
