Following last season’s treble, Bayern Munich have gone on to complete a clean sweep of trophies following a 1-0 win against Tigres of Mexico in the FIFA Club World Cup final.

The match staged at the Education City Stadium, Qatar saw Frenchman Benjamin Pavard score the only goal of the match, assisted by Poland man Robert Lewandowski to see the German club claim World Champion status.

This is Bayern’s sixth trophy in less than a year, having won the UEFA Super Cup, German Super Cup after last season's Treble.

Pavard's goal was firstly ruled out for a Lewandowski offside but given after VAR review. Joshua Kimmich also had a goal ruled out by VAR.

This is the eighth year in a row that a club from Europe has won the Club World Cup trophy.

Tigres made history as the first team from North or Central America to reach the final but failed to end the dominance of South American and sides in the tournament.

Former France striker Andre-Pierre Gignac won the Golden Boot with 3 goals.
