Cologne FC youngster becomes the youngest German player in Bundesliga history

Three days before his 17th birthday, Cologne FC youngster Yann Aurel Bisseck was the youngest German player in Bundesliga history in the starting line-up against Hertha BSC.

However, Dortmund's Nuri Sahin was the youngest to appear in Germany's top flight back in 2005.

Having made nine appearances for Cologne's U-19s so far this season, Bisseck became the club’s youngest ever Bundesliga player since 29 year old Sahin who now plays for the Turkish national team has only been a German citizen since 2011.
