The 2013 Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) may have come to Kenya but for three players, it will not be an unfamiliar venue.
Gor Mahia duo of Dan Sserunkuma and Israel Emuge have been included in the Uganda Cranes squad and are likely to come face to face with fellow team-mates if they meet Kenya at any stage in the competition.
Sserunkuma, who was named last year’s player of the year, has finally been called up to the Uganda Cranes squad after many years of being overlooked.
Sserunkuma scored eight goals for Gor Mahia in the just concluded season helping the club to win the Kenyan Premier League title after an 18 year wait.

starting place
This is likely to earn him a starting place in the Uganda Cranes squad as the team attempts to defend their title away from home.
Sserunkuma (pictured) is likely to also be included in the Uganda Cranes squad that will take part in next year’s Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) tournament in South Africa giving him a bigger stage to show-case his talent.
Emuge joined Gor Mahia at the start of this season and has managed to get a place in the starting line up in a move that attracted team selectors in Uganda.
Gor Mahia goalkeeper Ivo Mapunda will also be turning out for Tanzania and is likely to meet his team-mates if the Taifa Stars get to tackle Harambee Stars at some stage in the competition.
