Two people have died and several others injured in a road accident on Saturday afternoon.
It involved a matatu and a lorry on the Nairobi-Kangundo highway.
The accident occurred near Joska trading centre about two kilometers from Tala town.
Police sources confirmed one person died at the scene, while another succumbed to injuries while being taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital.
Several others were admitted to various health facilities with multiple injuries, three of them in critical condition, sources said.

Police said the Makata Sacco matatu was being driven from Tala towards Nairobi when it was hit on the side by a lorry travelling in the opposite direction.
Bodies of the deceased were taken to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital morgue. Both vehicles involved in the crash were towed to KBC police station.
The accident caused a traffic snarlup on the highway.
