Senate Majority Leader Kithure Kindiki is likely to retain his senate seat in Tharaka Nithi County.
Provisional results show Kindiki heading for a major win after getting 114,067 votes against his closest rival, Francis Kiambi of Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC), who has managed 51,185 votes from 594 out of 625 polling stations.
Farther afield, National Assembly majority leader Adan Duale has retained the Garissa Township parliamentary seat after beating former deputy speaker Farah Maalim of Wiper.
Constituency Returning Officer Boru Duba declared Duale the winner after he garnered 22,587 votes against Maalim's 14,897.
