Raiders suspected to be from a neighbouring country have killed four people, left three critical injured and 11 missing in North Horr Constituency, in Northern Eastern Province.
Local MP Chachu Ganya said the raiders struck on Tuesday night and were still terrorising residents by yesterday morning.
Ringed the area
"They drove off 100 head of cattle and over 3,000 goats. About 30 families have fled their homes and are now seeking accommodation elsewhere," said the MP.
Mr Ganya said heavily armed raiders struck Motutemptu near Eraret location where they reportedly ringed the area as they attacked residents. The area under siege, the MP said, is about 600km from Marsabet town where the nearest police station is located.
The leader told a press conference that police officers from Marsabet arrived yesterday morning and called for more reinforcement to drive the raiders back and trace the missing Kenyans. He said the attack has paralysed census as residents and enumerators have been forced to keep off the area.
