The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is targeting construction of 2,000 police housing units following successful completion of the Ruai police housing project.
NHC has completed construction of 44 housing units at the Ruai Police Station in a record six months.
This project is the first large-scale Government project to adopt modern building technologies, which has significantly reduced the project duration.
Managing Director Wachira Njuguna said the corporation has the capacity to deliver the remaining 1,956 police housing units within the next six months.

“The Ruai police housing project was one of our first Government projects to be completed within record time. NHC has the requisite resources to deliver the remaining housing units within six months,” he said.
The Ruai police housing project is part of the police reform programme which, among other objectives, aims to improve the welfare of the security officers.
Mr Wachira said to fulfil the corporation’s mandate, they are working very closely with the national government to ensure that it offer its uniformed forces decent housing.
“With the EPS technology, which speeds up delivery and the expertise within the corporation, the anticipated national roll-out will see us complete these houses within sixmonths, ” he said. The EPS panels are made in NHC’s factory within Machakos County.
