Standard Group’s Nick Oluoch has won the Oscar Van Leer Award for his work on children issues.
The award was presented to him at Radio Netherlands Training Centre in a ceremony at The Hague, Netherlands, at the weekend.
Four other journalists from Africa, Latin America The Caribbean and India were also awarded.
The five will also undergo a five-week fellowship at the training centre in Amsterdam next year, courtesy of the Oscar Van Leer Foundation between May and June next year.

The organisation aims to promote awareness on child rights.
"The award was motivating, given the ills children go through in life. I look forward to attending the training session to improve my skills and to interact with journalists from around the globe," he told The Standard yesterday.
