Former Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana star and TV presenter Marc Batchelor has been shot dead outside his home in Johannesburg.

According to Police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, two unknown assailants gunned down the ex-footballer on Monday evening as he turned to his driveway.

"Police are investigating a murder case after a former soccer player, Marc Bachelor was attacked by two men driving a motorbike in Olivedale outside his house. He was shot several times and died inside his vehicle. The suspects then drove away without taking anything. The motive for the attack is still unknown. No one has been arrested," said Dlamini.

Dlamini added the suspects drove away without taking anything, with the motive of the attack still unknown.

"He died in his vehicle and nothing was taken. The motive is yet to be established, but we are investigating," Dlamini concluded.
