A dozen Nairobi Members of Parliament have backed Peter Kenneth for the city governor's seat on a Jubilee ticket.
The legislators termed Kenneth's competitors non-starters who lack the vision to develop the capital city.
The 12 MPs who included Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh and nominated MP Sonia Birdi, spoke at Jubilee headquarters in Nairobi when they accompanied Kenneth to present his nomination papers.
The MPs present included Waihenya Ndirangu (Roysambu), John Chege (Kasarani), James Mwangi (Embakasi North) and John Ndirangu (Embakasi Central).
Others were George Theuri (Embakasi West), Benson Mutura (Makadara), Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji), Maina Kamanda (Starehe, TNA) and Steven Kariuki (Mathare, ODM).
"We have all submitted our nomination papers to the party. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto had instructed us to agree through consensus who gets what seat. But our competitors refused. Now, our team including PK is sure of trouncing them," Shebesh said.
Senator Mike Sonko, nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru will all fight it out with Kenneth for the Jubilee ticket.
