Narok, Kenya: A KCSE candidate in the county gave birth while sitting the national examinations.

Narok North education officer Kuyo ole Saowina said Thursday the candidate from Maasai Girls gave birth at Narok County Hospital Maternity.

"All is well as far as the examinations are concerned and there is no hitch. We only have a case of a girl who gave birth and had to sit her exams at the maternity," said Saowina.

He said the candidate was stable and would continue with the rest of the examinations as usual.

"We made the arrangements and have sent our supervisor and security at the maternity," he said.

Another girl from Sogoo Secondary school in Narok South sub-county is uncertain whether she will sit the examinations as she was set to deliver at Ololung'a Hospital but was transferred to Kijabe Mission Hospital due to birth complications.
