Nairobi, Kenya - Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi now says he has forgiven Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Wilson Sossion over an alleged abusive text message.

Prof Kaimenyi said it was pointless to keep fighting when the two are in the same sector.

“Whether he apologises or not, that is up to him. I have nothing against him since this is not a personal matter,” he said.

Speaking to journalists at Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development, the CS said unions were partners in the Ministry of Education and needed to work together.

He added that ideological differences should not be used to bring division between stakeholders in the education sector.

Kaimenyi had last week reported Sossion to the Director of Criminal Investigations for abusing him and disregarding his position as a Cabinet Secretary.
