Sometime back Denis Okari came up with a very brilliant investigative piece on the evils that happen in church, then just recently some pastors were found doing acrobatics in some lodgings with the sheep they are supposed to care, others were caught carrying human remains and visiting Anyika the Dibia at some odd hours in Ukambani while others got blasted by Facebooks Deadbeat Parents which mutated within a day to Deadbeat Dads.

And just as we were still thinking  what just  hit us in Kapedo, Turkana deaths and the Karen Land saga, Mohamed Ali's  Jicho Pevu and  John Allan Namu's The inside story jolted us to the enemy within the house of God in Prayer Predators of one Victor Kanyari and his centurions of  'miracle workers' aka  KDF [Kanyari Defense Forces].  Twitter and the entire social network was literary on fire with utter disgust, condemnation and curses for the purported miracle workers and the said sperm donors as the ladies nicknamed the missing in action dads. If anything, I bet Lucifer ought to have descended down the net to read for himself the curses from the KOSM (Kenyans on social media)!

I may not have the best of the theological classroom brain to be able to delve into this murky water of the unholy ghosts among the angels, but let me add my three pence ideas from the poor man’s point of view.

I have heard and read a lot about how the government should ban the churches but no one has sobered up to point at what exactly is the cause all this rot? We are more concerned about where we fell and not what made us fall, how the rain is beating us and not when the rain started beating us.

That is what I like about Kenyans; the only creature I say was created on day 8 after all others had been created. The –know- it –all, loud mouthed, two legged, upright being in South of Sahara; very quick to find fault in the other person but himself. While at it, he will create so loud a raucous to the point that the whole facts get muddied in the din of the holier- though cacophony.

Let me digress a bit, starting from International Criminal Court, we are the best analysts, advocates, lawyers, investigators and judges that make the whole ICC like look a toy court, never mind 7 years down the line we are yet to do a proper investigation on the matter and we keep bandying names.

Funny we castigate ICC and Waki report for doing shoddy investigations and still we want to know who was in the envelope. Meaning we are yet to do our own; ‘Morons we are!’

Then came the West Gate, I don’t even know what really happened with the investigations or inquiry about the incident. The last time the poor checked, a report was released by the Independence Police Oversight Authority which found out that contrary to what the CS for Internal security Joseph Ole Lenku told us that the opposition was behind Mpeketoni, it was in fact the police who were supplying arms to the terrorists! Talk of a bank being broken into by the very police guarding it! I am not the judge on that. But all I know is that a lot of hot empty threats were poured onto some poor journalists' microphones then we went back to take tea, until another one scandal jolts us to some uncoordinated pronouncements.

Back to the seeds of sin

Here are some few truths. Unfortunately, the poor do not care what you think about it, it's the truth:

Those who are quick to cast stones on the pastors terming them as evil and money driven, are being economical with the truth for the hard cold fact is that the culprits are the very persons casting the first stones.

I stand to be corrected. The pastors, just like the rest of us, are taking advantage of the weaknesses that have permeated the fabric of our society from the times Ngai patched on Mt Kenya and Ramogi landed on the shores of Nam Lolwe (Lake Victoria).

Lack of proper laws and ineffective implementation of the ones existing; our laws are as fickle as those who are tasked with their implementation. One time you see men and women running around like headless chickens trying to get some action, and then the next day they are lost after pocketing bribes.

A gullible society driven by propaganda, mesmerized and ready to accept lies than truth, they celebrate suspects and will go to any length to demonize those who say the truth then turn around to call the victims suspects! What do you expect of such a populace? A lazy hypocritical lot only ready for free bees instead of hard work. Someone sweats to feed his family, hires lorry to ferry his goods, when the lorry is involved in an accident, the fools go on a looting spree chanting 'Haki yetu'. They even never bother about the injured drivers pinned down under the wreckage.

It is therefore just right to say that the con pastors are exploiting that very weakness where the Homo Sapien Kanyarisis is not ready to work hard, a know-it all charlatan who knows better than God Himself, never mind, they are backstreet commentators, who can’t tell why there are solar eclipses.

Instead, they are too emotionally religious and without blinking an eye, will tell you ‘the World is about to end we need to go to Uhuru Park and pray every time there is a problem’

If I may ask, why are we up in arms against the pastors as if they force us to give them our offering? Start by shooting yourself for being a maggot head to believe the lies churned out by the sweet talkers of some back street churches. And the catholic lead by Cardinal John Njue should not start behaving like those cults I have seen around opposing everything science including the vaccination against Tetanus. All these are symptoms of empty minds. Majority of those who buy into the lies are the lazy-a bouts house wives (not all) who use their husbands' hard earned money from Chokri's industrial area to fatten the fake pastors.

Have you realized that majority of those who often fall in the name of the power of the man of God are women? Look no further, and true spirit existence cannot be gainsaid, however aren’t those fainting in most schools in the name of possession by demons girls? Yet all the while it’s just the common hysteria neurosis either due to stress or having engaged in unprotected sex or abortion and is disturbed by the whole prospect of the unknown.

Men rarely fall and those who do need to get mental check-up before long! I call on women empowerment both by themselves and by those who have income generating activities; to be part of the economic development chain, stop them from being idle and gossiping all day long thus picking rumours of some miracle workers in the neighbourhood.

The love for free things starts from our living rooms. There is no better place to get the lies of the get-rich quick than our TV stations in cahoots with national and multinationals firms.  The street

Pata-potea con game just got revolutionized and digitized right into our hands. You just have to send an sms starting with the word, blah blah blah to the short code in the screen and walla! You get a chance to win a million shillings without even breaking a sweat. Stupid!

How do you expect to win a million without working for it, if it is not the firm that will in turn lie to other millions of Kenyans to send in sms’s or make calls to stand a chance to win? Let’s say each sms or call (by the way most of those calls deduct a certain amount instantly the moment it goes through even before the other person picks the call) cost Sh60 multiply by some gullible 100,000 Kenyans per day times 30 days you get SH180, 000,000 on the lower side and you still wonder why one telecom company is making billions in profit in a country like Kenya where millions live on less than one dollar a day! And ooh boy! Christmas is coming, soon you will be bombarded left right and centre with get-rich-quick adverts the moment you get to the house. This explains why the rich will always remain rich and the poor will continue being poorer. I have never seen rich people winning these things by the way, meaning they have no time wasting their hard earned money chasing wind. Then there is this catch phrase' the more you send, the more you stand a chance of winning'…Hehehe!   This is what they really mean fellow Kenyans; ‘the more you send the sms or call the more we become richer and you become poorer,' same as what the con pastors are doing. You now get the link of our society and the fake pastors?

A society always on the lookout for shortcuts and would go to any length to rig to the top be it political elections or just simple competitions. If anyone told you that the 2014 KCSE wasn’t leaked, that person lied to you.  We live in a society where some groups of 'special schools’ literally do KCSE examination papers as mock exams.  When they finally release the exam results, the hard working ‘stupid’ poor lot will appear in your TV and then we demonstrate against teachers. Some parents give money or even buy examination papers for their children days before the said examination then we all condemn teachers and principals.

A society thriving on ignorance and impunity will not see through the fog of lies being peddled around.  Our society likes being lied to, try telling them the truth and you will be run out of town, yet you still wonder why beautiful girls sleep with some old blokes with 20 grandchildren but still have the guts to announce to the world in Deadbeat face book page about what they did in private when they were just the two of them.

It’s all in our ignorance. We are ignorant of the law, thrive on impunity and defy what our very own National Assembly speaker Justine Muturi calls ‘useless court orders’ , to the point we build on railway lines till an accident occurs then we demand compensation!

When a society thrives in such a swamp of dirt, then the clever fools will always reap big, for religion is the human mental machinery that runs on fuel that never burns the white man’s dream.

So before you castigate the pastors look at yourself in the mirror!

Otherwise these are just random reflections from the poor; you never know, they may hold  some truth and if you doubt then just walk in Victor Kanyari's church and get washed off your  blood of sin-sorry Patassium of gullibility!
