The Kenya National Congress of Pentecostal Churches expresses its disgust over media reports of people masquerading as Pastors, Preachers, Bishops, Apostles and Prophets who are hawking and peddling the Word of God, conning and extorting money from innocent but vulnerable desperate Kenyans in the name of the Church and miracles.

KNCPC is a registered Christian Pentecostal Organization comprising of several clergy from different denominations and Churches in Kenya with a sole mission to bring to an end this craze and despicable acts  of conning people using the Bible.

Jesus taught that, ‘freely you have received freely give’. If one has received a gift of healing or performing miracles freely from God, why sell it to God’s people?

This doctrine of planting seed in order to receive a miracle is all false and evil to say the least. It is not only defrauding innocent Kenyans of their hard earned money but it is also witchcraft.

We ask Kenyans not to pay any Pastor or Preacher or Prophet or Bishop any money in order to be prayed for or for the purposes of receiving a miracle. It is all false, evil, ungodly, satanic and witchcraft.

The issue of selling oil, water, sand, soil, brooms, stones, sticks, salt, bones of cows and donkeys etc in the name of receiving miracles from them is idol worship. It is nothing but idolatry, which God hates immeasurably.

This statement, issued on behalf of the Pentecostal and Evangelical Congregations in Kenya specifically condemns the acts of one self styled Apostle who was exposed by the electronic media openly and out rightly conning innocent desperate people. We commend KTN for exposing this con and ask them to go for more others who are not only bringing ridicule to the Body of Christ but also committing serious crimes under the Criminal Procedure Code of the Laws of Kenya, that of obtaining money by false pretenses.

This MUST Stop. KNCPC is establishing a working relationship with Government agencies in a bid to review several so called ‘churches’ together with their pastors and if need be, vet them for re-registration as this conman-ship has just become too much to bear. The true men and women of God will have to be separated from the false ones and we call upon government to work with KNCPC to weed out these false prophets of doom in this country.

In many countries in Africa, what is happening in Kenya by these rogue preachers won’t be allowed to take place, why in Kenya?

KNCPC has established branches all over the country in over 40 Counties to sensitize Christians  to be wary of these con-preachers and expose them to the public.

Hon Stephen Ndicho                                                                                                                                                                                      2nd Deputy Chairman, KNCPC
