Leader of Majority Adan Duale has backed plans by some senators seeking to ensure the bulk of the money allocated to the counties is used for development projects.
Speaking yesterday in Nairobi, Duale said that Jubilee MPs will back changes to the Public Finance Management Act to tie the hands of County Governors in driving how much is used in recurrent expenditure and funds used in development projects.
The law seeks to peg 70 per cent of devolved resources for development while the rest will go to salaries and other recurrent expenditures.
“So when amendments to the law come to Parliament, we will support it,” he said.
