The reason Makadara MP Gidion Mbuvi is preferred for the Nairobi senate seat is because he is generous and charitable.

Forty-eight per cent of his supporters like him for his generosity while 12 per cent feel that he empowers people by providing employment opportunities, especially to the youth.

On the other hand, eight per cent of his supporters would elect him because they believe he is a champion of the rights of the common man while five per cent say he has a good development and performance track record with good planning skills.

Another five per cent of his supporters would elect him because he is a famous and wealthy person while a similar percentage also would prefer him because he is young and enthusiastic.

Four per cent prefer Sonko because they believe he is accessible as he interacts with his follows while three per cent feel he is very courageous and outspoken.

And two per cent of his supporters would give him their vote because they believe he is not tribal with a similar number, saying he is accountable, trustworthy and transparent leader.

However, 10 per cent of his non-supporters say they dislike Sonko because he exhibits childish and immature behaviour.

Another eight per cent of his non-supporters further say they dislike him, because they feel he is violent and rowdy and another six per cent say he is arrogant.

Some four per cent of the same group says Sonko portrays a poor image in terms of his dressing.

Two per cent feel he is corrupt while one per cent think he is a tribalist. A similar number say they dislike him because of his poor leadership.

Interestingly, four per cent of those who dislike say they don’t know why while 55 per cent have no reason.
