Police officers in Imenti South District arrested a middle-aged man over the murder of his wife following a domestic row.
Area OCPD Leah Kithei said CID officers arrested him after a tip-off from the public.
The suspect’s wife, Elosy Gacheri, was killed at Ndingene village, Igoji Division early this month.
The OCPD urged the public to embrace community policing by giving information on the incident to police to enable them take appropriate action and arrest other suspects.
Residents claim the couple’s problem started when the husband started cohabiting and spending family resources with another woman causing the animosity.
The husband had visited the family’s residential home accompanied by the alleged concubine on the fateful day leading to a disagreement.
It is also alleged the deceased was opposed to the sale of family land, which the husband wanted to sell without consent of other members.
