Despite launching two teargas canisters at him, Mtimkavu proceeded to charge towards the officer, gesturing to sharpen the panga using the tarmac. Other officers intervened and ran him back into the estate.
Just then, a bodaboda rider carrying two pillion female passengers forced his way through the group of police officers, when one of the cops kicked the rider off balance.
In a shocking turn of events, one of the female passengers drew a machete, threatening the police officers as the rider who suffered facial injuries writhed in pain on the road.
This was followed by the protestors pelting the officers with stones, leaving some of the cops with minor injuries, giving the two female passengers and the rider a chance to escape.
