Bien-Aimé Baraza of Kenyan boyband Sauti Sol has said he is planning to stop using substances, including Muguka, known on the streets as Jaba.

“Time to reset and rewind. From this day onwards, I am a changed man. I am even considering quitting Jaba and other substances. It won't be easy but the lord is with me,” he said.

The ‘Mbwe Mbwe’ hit maker said he is embarking on a journey to become a better person the first step of the journey is to reset and rewind.

Sharing the news on social media, Bien said he has decided to take a step back, saying there a lot of habits that he wishes to leave behind.

“So, after a long hard look in the mirror, I have decided to change my ways. The internet is a very toxic place and I just want to take a step back. There are a lot of habits that I picked up along the way that I am leaving behind this year. I just wanna reset and rewind. Thank you,” he tweeted.

Bien admitted that stopping the abuse of substances is going to be difficult for him but he is determined to make it through and achieve his goal of becoming a much cleaner and sober individual.

His announcement has elicited mixed reactions among netizens and celebrities as well.

Taking the lead was comedian Eric Omondi who revisited his exchange with Bien a few months ago when the two were involved in a heated debate.

“I knew you were on Hard Drugs all along????????????????????????????????...The AUDACITY to Argue with a whole President...There is no way you Were Sober. Welcome back,” shared Eric.

Former Radio presenter Kalekye Mumo applauded Bien for taking the first step and promised to support him.

“This is amazing and I am here to support you as you push through to the new you,” she said.

The change has come barely a month after Bien revealed that he lost his Porsche Cayenne car keys, phone and other valuables at the recent Konshen’s concert.

“Hey guys, so last night at the NRG Wave concert, I can't remember who I was talking to but somebody pickpocketed me. I lost my Infinix Note 11 Pro and car keys (Porsche Cayenne) among other valuables in the jacket. The phone had all my recent voice notes of the next Sauti Sol album,” he said.
