A collage of Usher and Beyonce

During his guest appearance on Shannon Sharpe's Club Shay Shay, Usher took a moment to clear up a swirling rumor about his supposed role as Beyoncé's nanny in their younger years.

Usher offered a more accurate description of his involvement, likening it to that of a "chaperone" rather than a caretaker.

He shared a story from the past when The Dolls, a group that included a young Beyoncé before her Destiny's Child fame and managed by Daryl Simmons, visited Atlanta. Usher, then a teenager, found himself in a supervisory position.

"It was my job to look after them while they were engaged in activities at the house, essentially ensuring they remained out of mischief," Usher detailed, firmly distancing himself from the terms "nanny" or "manny."

Usher's commentary on Club Shay Shay shed light on his historical connection with Beyoncé, stretching back to their formative years in the music industry.

He has previously touched upon this relationship during an interview on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp in the UK, reminiscing about knowing Beyoncé when she was merely 11 or 12 years old, part of The Dolls.

Usher humorously debated the idea of being considered their babysitter but acknowledged a period when he was responsible for overseeing the group.
