Police are searching for a woman who stabbed her husband’s girlfriend to death at Ragumo trading centre in Kisumu East Sub-county.  Kisumu East Deputy Sub-county Police Commander Charles Wafula said the suspect attacked the said woman with a kitchen knife and stabbed her in the chest yesterday.

The husband, who was in the company of the deceased, is said to have gone to a friend’s house to spend the night there when his wife got wind of the plan and followed the pair. She is said to have stormed the house where the two were at 1am and stabbed her husband's companion in the chest before fleeing the scene.

The suspect's husband and his friend also fled the scene while the woman, who died on the spot, was left lying in a pool of blood on the bed. Police recovered a kitchen knife and a bedsheet soaked in blood before taking the woman's body to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary. “We have taken the man and his friend into custody to help the police with investigations,” Wafula said.

Elsewhere, a 31-year-old man is said to have committed suicide at Korwenje area, Seme Sub-county after his wife left him for another man.

The man from Gem-Ogero in Siaya County reportedly had a disagreement with his wife who fled their matrimonial home for the man who lives in Seme, Kisumu County. According to village elder Maurice Odipo, the man traced his wife to the man's home. He urged her to return home with him, but the woman refused.

Her husband then went back home alone and was later found to have killed himself. Kisumu County Commander Ranson Lolmodon said police collected the body and took it to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue.
