Sabina Chege with Jimmy Gait.

Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has paid ailing gospel musician Jimmy Gait a visit in India.

An elated Jimmy Gait posted a group photo in the company of Sabina and a few other Kenyans, with it a caption explaining that the visit enabled her to collect useful information that will help the government look for a solution to reduce the number of Kenyans going to India for treatment.

“Mheshimiwa Sabina Chege came to visit Kenyans who are ailing here in India. She has gathered some good information on why so many Kenyans are coming here and how the government can intervene to improve our health sector. Wapi likes za Mheshimiwa!?” wrote Jimmy Gait.

Cancer scare

Sabina Chege’s visit comes barely days after Jimmy Gait was forced to respond to social media users spreading false information about his illness.

Through his YouTube channel, the singer pleaded with those spreading news that he has throat cancer to cease.

“I would like to highlight something that I have noticed on social media going on.  There is a rumour saying I have come here for cancer treatment, that I have throat cancer. I don’t know where that came from. But I would really appeal to anybody spreading those kinds of rumours to kindly desist because we are still doing tests and until the results are out, it’s not right for you to spread those kinds of rumours,” he cautioned.

A call for prayer

Despite assumptions from a few Kenyans, Jimmy Gait maintains that he is hopeful his illness will be identified and he will be treated.

The Huratiti singer called upon his family, friends and fans to pray with him.

“I am trusting God like you are trusting God with me and those that are praying with me that I will get a good report. Continue praying with me that even if it was going to be a bad report that it will be a good report.

“I believe I still have a lot of work to do and I have more songs to do for you. I believe I have ministry ahead of me, to be able to do so much more for you and for God most importantly,” he concluded.
