Gor Mahia fan Christopher Mutinda is the latest beneficiary of betting after he won the SportPesa Mega Jackpot bonus amounting to Sh31, 093,088 last weekend.

Mutinda, who lives in Nairobi, correctly predicted the outcome of 16 out of 17 select Mega Jackpot matches to become the latest millionaire in town.

He rued a Jamie Paterson equaliser in the 81st minute for Bristol City FC in their 2-2 draw away to Bolton Wanderers FC in the Championship - a goal which narrowly kicked him out of the ultimate Mega Jackpot prize of Ksh177, 684,943, having predicted a win for Bolton. Mutinda however was over the moon for reaping big out from a paltry Sh100.

“I have no regrets because I staked Sh100 and won all this money,” he said.

The software developer attributes the win to the resumption of the EPL, which he considers easy to predict.

He also used the podium time to predict a win for his local team, Gor Mahia, against EPL side Everton in their upcoming friendly match.

“I love Gor Mahia. It is a very talented team with a good coach and great teamwork. They could actually beat Everton,” Mutinda said.

Some of the games in last week’s Mega Jackpot included EPL matches Fulham vs Crystal Palace, Wolves vs Everton, Watford vs Brighton and English Championship games such as Norwich City vs West Bromwich and Blackburn vs Millwall among others.

Following his win, the Mega Jackpot amount which increases weekly if not won, has risen to Ksh181,474,840 this week, while the jackpot which starts at Sh10 million stands at Ksh32,536,491 this week.
