What started as a targeted post turned out to be a full blown attack on Keroche breweries heiress Anerlisa Muigai for ‘fat shaming.’
After shooting her own foot, she had to go back on social media to apologize for making this offensive statement.
‘’If some of y'all would run as fast as you ran your mouths, I am sure by the end of the year, you could be smaller than me. #ObesityIsAChoice.’’ She posted.
And from there everything went downhill. Trolls took over accusing her of all manner of things including having undergone liposuction. Others did not think much of it and called it for what it was, the truth hurts.
However the Nero CEO has decided to make a public apology after the outcry especially from those who have weight issues due to illnesses and this is what she had to say.
‘’I wanted to take a moment and apologise for what I posted yesterday. That post was directed at someone most of you know. I am fully responsible for what I post and it's unfortunate that it got out of hand and offended so many people.
At no given time would I ever disrespect or ridicule people struggling with weight loss as I have been there myself. Trust me, I know just how hard it is. The hashtag #ObesityIsAChoice was referring to those who have the full capacity to work out and eat right but choose not to. I am fully aware that some people suffer from certain conditions that make it hard to lose weight.
Please find a place in your heart to forgive me. I did not mean to offend anyone. Have a blessed week ahead.’’ She wrote.
Anerlisa has been on a long journey of weight loss and is one of the public figures looked upon for inspiration having shed over 60kgs.
