For most Kenyan households, making meals like ugali is the one of the most basic cooking activities to the extent that teenagers learn the art real quick as they grow up. But this case does not apply to Lupita Nyong’o!
The Oscar winner candidly revealed that one of the things she misses most about home is the Ugali. Sadly, despite owning a mwiko, she cannot make Ugali on her own and as such her mum always has to make the “African cake” when she goes visiting abroad.
She said she could never get the proportions of flour to water right.
A surprised Larry Madowo could not help contain his shock terming her state as a ‘terrible’ one. Hopefully, when Lupita learns how to make Ugali the world shall know, and her mother won’t have to fly all the way to Hollywood to make some!
