Isn’t the national women’s volleyball team the most uncelebrated team in Kenya? Besides doing Kenya proud by winning the continental volleyball championship for the ninth time on Saturday, the young stars seemed neglected after the crowning with no celebrations taking place at all.

Some of the players were overheard discussing how they were going to catch ‘matatus’ home as sponsors failed to throw them a victory party.

“It really looked bad to see the players hustling with their camping bags to the bus stop to try get transport home. This is really a bad picture. I think the girls are the most uncelebrated team in Kenya,” a fan told MondayBlues.

MondayBlues can reveal that the players had their preparations towards the tournament delayed by a week due to the Groove ceremony that was held at the Safaricom Indoor Arena - where they practice - last month.
