Congolese superstar Koffi Olomide has issued an apology to Kenyans, three months after he was deported for kicking one of his dancers at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Koffi was deported by the Kenyan authorities 24 hours after his arrival after he was caught on camera assaulting one of his dancers at JKIA.

The incident sparked a public outcry that saw Kenyans on social media calling for the Congolese musician’s arrest.

In his apology, the musician asked his Kenyan fans to forgive him for he is only a human being.

“The most bold thing that I have ever done is apologise. Most people thought I would not be able to do it, but I am doing it and I would do it again from the bottom of my heart. My fellow brothers and sisters in Kenya, I want to send you a message of love and respect. I am sorry for what happened last time, and I ask that you forgive me for what happened. I am only a human being even though I am a superstar,”said the 60 year old singer.
