A Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) officer has moved to court to sue a prostitute who allegedly drugged and stole from him.

Kitavi Gobrine, an officer based at Mtongwe Barracks’ Naval division, accused Sarah Njoki of stealing from him after a drinking spree at a club along Outering Road.

According to prosecution, Njoki stole Kitavi’s personal property totaling Sh51,500, including a phone and his militarily identification card.

The court heard that on the fateful day, Gobrine had visited the city and decided to go out for a few drinks.

He allegedly went to a club along Outering Road, where two women (one of them Njoki) asked if they could share a table.

Sensing no danger, he agreed and even bought the women a few drinks.

Gobrine claimed that the women were in high spirits and at some point, he excused himself to go to the washrooms. He claims that soon after he returned, he started feeling dizzy.

He told the court that he blacked out and on regaining consciousness, found himself in a hotel room, with his phone, money and ID missing.

Gobrine reported the matter to the police and when his phone was traced, it was found with Njoki.

They managed to arrest her at the same bar where the two had earlier met.

She denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh20,000.

The case will be heard on September 30.
