Stacy Pendo (L) and Vera Sidika

There seems to be trouble brewing between Nairobi’s self-declared socialites. Vera Sidika and Stacy Pendo were allegedly involved in a brawl at a popular restaurant along Lenana Road, The Nairobian has learnt.

In a statement seen by this paper, Vera has accused Pendo of verbal and physical assault on the night of January 13. Police are still investigating the motive of the fight, even though sources close to the socialites claim that both women have been linked to a popular Nigerian artiste.

On the fateful day, Vera recorded that she and a female friend were having drinks while taking stock of the Nairobi Dairies, a local reality TV series in which she features, when Pendo allegedly walked in and went straight to her table and started insulting her.

Vera reportedly demanded to know why Pendo was tarnishing her name.

“When I asked her why she was bad-mouthing me, Pendo picked a glass and splashed its contents in my face,” Vera told CID officers at Kilimani Police Station, where she reported the incident a day later.

Vera further claims that Pendo slapped and kicked her in the ensuing scuffle that left some of the patrons scampering for safety.

Vera’s bodyguard, identified as Dan, allegedly separated the two before restaurant security reportedly threw Pendo out. Vera sought treatment at a popular women’s hospital.

Her bodyguard who allegedly sustained a cut in his hand also recorded a statement. A video that Vera posted on Instagram and later deleted, shows her bodyguard bleeding in the arm.

Police have vowed to arrest Pendo as soon as Vera completes the P3 Form.

“Vera reported that she was attacked by Pendo who has since gone underground. We shall arrest the suspect,” said Kilimani CID boss Phyllis Kaninah.

Efforts to reach Pendo for comments were futile as her phone was still switched off by the time of going to press.
