Rosephine Mukusu is alleged to have injured her daughter in the act  

A barmaid aged 36 was arraigned in court for allegedly inserting her finger into her nine-year-old’s private parts and injured her in the process.

The court heard that Rosephine Mukusu committed the offence on June 19 in Embakasi.

The prosecution said that the accused committed the act as punishment, allegedly because he class four minor left the house unattended to borrow a book from a friend.

The court also heard that the accused locked the child outside the house after she fled fearing the mother’s wrath. The accused reportedly opened the door later and started beating the child with sandals. She also allegedly doused her in paraffin and threatened to set her ablaze.

Luckily the girl’s cry for help attracted neighbours who reportedly rushed to her rescue. Police are yet to give additional evidence against the accused.

The case will be mentioned on July 6.
