Bungoma, Kenya: A 39-year-old man from Chemche village, Kanduyi constituency has been charged with incest and impregnating his daughter.
A Bungoma court heard that Philip Nalianya, the Bukembe West Ward office manager has been sleeping with his 14-year-daughter for over two years after his wife died in 2013.
The victim, who is four months pregnant said her father has been forcing her to have sex with him every night and warned her of dire consequences if she dared reveal it to anybody.
"My father has even denied me a chance to join a secondary school despite performing well in KCPE. In 2013, I did well but he forced me to repeat, last year I performed very well but he is adamant that if I join a boarding secondary school, it will deny him a chance to enjoy sex with me," she said in court.
Principal Magistrate Peter Areri released the suspect on a Sh20,000 cash bail or Sh100,000 bond.

Bungoma County Woman Representative Reginalda Wanyonyi condemned the court for its lenient penalty. "There is something wrong with our justice system, how can such a culprit be released for so little money?" she posed.
