Mbita MP Millie Mabona Odhiambo has come out guns blazing to blast the manner in which the Waziri Chacha issue has been twisted to become a ‘female MPs sleeping around’ issue.
Chacha alias Benson Masubo stole headlines after releasing intimate photos with former Bomet Woman Representive Dr Cecilia Ng’etich.
However, his ‘popularity’ grew after he was linked to an extortion scam which saw several members of Parliament fooled into sending money.
On phone, he impersonated Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege and got MPs to send him money under the notion that ‘she’ was sick.

Unbridled appetite for debt is driving Kenya to ruin, not prosperity
“We have carried in-depth investigations on this matter and come to the conclusion that there is a special relationship between the complainant (Sabina Chege) and the suspect which I may not be comfortable discussing in public,” said DCI boss George Kinoti. He then went on to clarify that the ‘special relationship’ statement was misleading.
Chacha was arrested in Tanzania as he attempted to flee to Congo.
Millie, through a Facebook post, gave her account on Waziri Chacha, saying that most of the MPs knew about him and even agreed on reporting him to police.
“As women MPs we agreed to report him to the police,” read part of the MP’s post.
She also talked about the methods Chacha used to con MPs money, saying that apart from soliciting money for Sabina’s ‘cancer’ treatment, he would also create a crisis that would require cash urgently.
She then blasted people who took the story out of hand, saying that the whole issue has now become a matter of sexual innuendo when it shouldn’t be. She clarified that Chacha also conned male MPs.
“Then suddenly the story became about sexual innuendos to direct connotations of sexual engagements. know "sex" sells but I find it abhorrent for any person or institution to spin this nonsense. Can women not do anything without it being about sex,” added the MP.
Here is Millie Odhiambo’s full post:
Hon Sabina Chege discovered that a conman was using her name to con people. The conman fraudulently registered a number under Hon Sabina's name. He would either solicit for money for Hon Sabina's alleged cancer treatment abroad or would create a crisis that required urgent money. He coned both male and female MPs and non MPs alike. A number sent him money. One way of trying to con women MPs was to try hitting on them with sexual messages. We share information on our wassup and we discovered he had tried to con several women MPs
As women MPs we agreed to report him to the police. Then suddenly the story became about sexual innuendos to direct connotations of sexual engagements. Shamelessly someone has even gone to the extent of putting up a photo of a guy called Samwel from Muranga who took a photo with Hon Sabina, his MP, purporting it to be a photo with the conman Chacha.
I know "sex" sells but I find it abhorrent for any person or institution to spin this nonsense. Can women not do anything without it being about sex.
I am sure if I told you women MPs had Nyoyo for lunch you would find a way of making it sexual. May be we had sex with the beans and now the maize wants sex too.
Like I have always said, did any woman MP borrow your "V" and misuse it? It can not always be a vaginamonologue. Only non intelligent people make everything about women sexual. Grow up!
Chacha’s lawyer Job Ngeresa now says his client has a brain tumour and is under medication.
