The championships, which are set to be held at Kapsabet Boys and Girls High schools, have been put on hold following the death of a student and a teacher in a road accident.

According to Rift Valley region Secondary schools sports Association Secretary Peter Mulambula, they decided to postpone the games until Sunday so as to mourn those who perished in the accident.

"At this time, as investigations continue to established the cause of the accident, and in respect for those involved and the host school, we have decided to postpone the games until Sunday," Mulambula told Standard Sports.

Mulambula added that teams will arrive on Saturday and referees coordination clinic will be held on that day.
