Comedienne Elsa Majimbo has been named top 30 under 30 by Forbes Magazine. The twenty-year-old took to Twitter to relay the good news. The comedienne in her couldn't resist laughing off the recognition. On her Twitter handle she wrote:

" Imagine posting videos because of boredom and ending up on Vogue, CQ etc getting Forbes 30 under 30 and other awards. Moving to LA and creating a global audience and way more. How did we get here?"

Elsa makes the Forbes 30 under 30 list.

In celebration of its eighth edition, Forbes magazine sought to honour those who not only shone a light during the pandemic but also those who are committed to changing the narrative. Part of their statement on Instagram read, 

"The list this year features the best and the brightest, but most importantly, the most resilient, who have taken the time to not only shine a light on the issues plaguing Africa's growth in a pandemic era but also work towards shifting the narrative, one tiny tenacious step." 

Elsa's quote on the famed magazine depicts her as a confident star who believes that she is destined for greatness. Her eye-catching quote on the magazine reads, "Growing up I always knew I would be iconic." 

The MAC cosmetics ambassador broke into the limelight during the Corona pandemic due to the mocking humour style of videos. In her viral videos, Elsa is seen crunching crisps while propped on her pillow while donning her signature Majimbo hair as well as 90's sunglasses as she breaks into an infectious laugh.

On going viral, the comedian has gained many endorsements including an ambassadorial role with Rihanna's cosmetic brand dubbed Fenty. In 2020 she also won the People's Choice Award for African Favorite Social star. Her comic videos have been showcased on Comedy Central earning her shutouts from stars such as Snoop Dogg, Miss Universe and Lupita Nyong'o among other superstars.

The former Strathmore University journalism student has over 2 million followers on Instagram and more than a million followers on TikTok. The star revealed that she dropped out of school after earning 100k views on a video.

She makes the list along with three other Kenyans: Dr. Joan Ruguru Kimani, for her work in Child health, gaming ambassador Sylvia Gathoni and Charlot Magayi, who founded Mukuru Clean Stoves.
