Nairobi, Kenya: Two Iranians were Wednesday jailed for a year by a Nairobi court for being in the country illegally.
They were also fined Sh2 million for travelling on forged Israeli passports or in default serve a two-year jail term each.
Hessamodin Hatami Malmiri and Zaharian Kolabian had earlier pleaded guilty before Nairobi Resident Magistrate Hannah Kaguru.
Meanwhile, a woman who allegedly stole from a man, claiming she would help his son get a job in Qatar was Wednesday released on a Sh50,000 cash bail.
Mary Kiboi was accused that on diverse dates between February 24 and April 26, 2014, at Nairobi, with intent to defraud, she obtained Sh77,750 from Moses Njoroge by pretending that she would offer his son an employment opportunity in Qatar.

She denied the charges before the Senior Principal Magistrate Doreen Mulekyo. The case will be heard on November 6.
