Occupation: Actor in Mali and IBA student at USIU

Tell us about your acting career?

I had a hidden passion for acting since I was young. I was the drama leader in church. Opportunities

Daniel Peter Weke

came rarely and I chose to focus on improving livelihood as opposed to exploring my talents.

It’s quite interesting how I got into acting. I took a friend to audition for Mali, then
decided to try it, and got the role. I then started going for the read-throughs to understand the character and to evaluate the chemistry with other characters.

Tell us your character in Mali

I play the character Arthur Mali. He is adorable, peaceful, kind, very likable and obedient. He, however, appears gullible and unwilling to take risks.

How do you relate to your character?

Daniel Peter is a hustler, a go-getter, hardworking, humble, friendly, and loves making new friends. So I believe a part of me is strongly similar to Arthur.

How is a typical working day for you?
I wake up at 5am and work out (working on those Abs in case Arthur has to do a topless scene lol), then spend the rest of the day from 6am on set shooting. I normally get home at 8pm and work on my lines for the next day. I try to balance school and work. Acting needs energy and full commitment for one to be at their best.

How do you spend your free time?
I watch movies to relax, read inspirational books and articles, hang out with family and friends, listen to music and write songs. I also love soccer; I’m a striker. Other hobbies are swimming, travelling, driving and home DJ mixing.

Are you dating?
It depends on what you mean by dating... Since frequently hanging out with someone might be construed as dating.

What do you look for in a partner?
I’m still young for a partner, but am attracted to someone who is determined and propelled by desire to be better. Generally, someone focused.
