Rumoured to have originated from the Dutch as they referred to it as the Dutch wax print, the Ankara fabric has openly embraced Western Africa. The print has caught on with the rest of Africa and the world as popular celebrities such as Beyoncé, Solange and Rihanna are donning it. Well... here in Kenya, fashion designers are adopting the print in their designs. The MIHI event that took place at Alfajiri Restaurant showcased some of the designers that use Ankara in their designs.
