The planned Bill by Minority Leader John Mbadi to limit amount of donations made in harambees by civil servants is in bad taste and should be opposed by all Kenyans.
Mr Mbadi should not pretend to be fighting on behalf of Kenyans in this proposed Motion while in the real sense it is a personal vendetta against Deputy President William Ruto.
In reality, most churches need donations to help them develop. In fact, the DP should be encouraged because most churches are still struggling to build and equip.
Besides, no one forces anyone to contribute in church harambees. It is a case of willing-giver and a willing-recipient.
Mr Mbadi and his ilk should concentrate on drafting Bills that benefit Kenyans and not curb the limitations of individuals' willing to assist the church. Anything else is a poor publicity stunt that will not help anyone, including Mbadi.
