The government has allocated Sh8.5 billion for 1,071, 856 Inua Jamii Programme beneficiaries.
The payment to the elderly citizens was to be released on May 5, according to an April 28 circular from Nelson Marwa, the Principal Secretary, the Department of Senior citizens and Special Programmes.
The monthly stipends that will be paid are for November, December, January and February. Each beneficiary will get Sh8,000.
The details have been dispatched to county teams to inform and coordinate the elderly persons to receive their money from their designated pay points.
"The payment is scheduled to start on May 5,” the circular said.
