A 32-year-old businesswoman stunned a city court when she claimed that her former lover asked her to refund him the money he had spent on her during their relationship.
Beth Wanjiku moved to court, accusing Francis Kanyari, her former lover, of assault.
Kanyari, a 41-year-old food consultant reportedly demanded to be compensated for the duration of their affair.
Beth told police that Kanyari attacked her at her business premises within Njiru area on September 10, leaving her with serious bodily injuries.
The prosecution said Kanyari demanded a refund of her investment in Wanjiku, including salon items and foodstuffs.

Kanyari denied the charges and was set free on a Sh10,000 cash bail. The trial was set for hearing in January 2017.
