Sometimes all you need, especially in the chilly weather, is to sink your teeth in comfort foods. And nothing beats some healthy starch and some juicy meats .
What you need
- 1/4 kg lean beef
- 1/4 onion diced
- 2 tsps. of fresh ginger & garlic mince
- 1 tbsp. of chopped cilantro
- A dash of cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- Egg white beaten
- Samosa pockets
Method
- Heat up a pan and add ½ a tbsp. of cooking oil.
- Add the beef and cook it on medium high heat.
- Once the meat starts browning, add onions, ginger, garlic, cumin and salt.
- Stir well then let it all cook until the meat has completely browned.
- Taste the beef and make adjustments before adding cilantro.
- Mix everything together then turn the heat off.
- Let the beef cool before you begin to assemble.
- Start assembling and use the egg white to seal the pockets.
- Pre- heat the oven as you brush the samosas with oil on both sides.
- Place on the baking tray and bake in a 150 degree oven under the broiler for 8-10 minutes before turning them.
- Bake the samosas for 12-15 minutes or until they have slightly browned.
- Once ready, leave to cool and serve.
