A total of 404 people have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 6309 tested in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health says the country’s positivity rate stands at 6.4 per cent after the total confirmed cases hit 249,174 from 2,549,996 cumulative tests conducted so far.

From the positive cases, 390 are Kenyans while 14 are foreigners, with 206 males and 198 females. The youngest positive case is a 6-day-old infant while the oldest, a 106-year-old.

Nairobi still leads in the highest positive cases with 66, followed by Nakuru (47), Nyamira (45), Kisii (28), Siaya (20) and Uasin Gishu (19).

On the bright side, 231 patients have recovered with 159 from Home-Based Isolation and Care program, with another 72 from various health facilities.

Total number of recoveries now stands at 241,411 – 46,202 from various health facilities and 195,209 from Home-Based Isolation and Care.

Three patients have died, one death has occurred in the last 24 hours; the other two being late death reports.

1,042 patients are currently admitted to health facilities across the country while 2,247 are under Home-Based Isolation and Care. 75 more are in Intensive Care, with 46 on ventilator support and 29 on supplemental oxygen.
