This is the first stand-alone film of the Fast & Furious franchise after eight films that have amassed almost $5 billion (Sh517 billion) worldwide. Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs, a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw, a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the two have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down. But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever - and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent, who just happens to be Shaw’s sister- these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be better than them.

Excellent acting performance by Jason Statham aka Shaw and Idris Elba who was perfect as ‘Black Superman’. Great CGI effects and amazing new action choreography of characters. David Leitch (Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde and John Wick) shows his acting chops with well-directed action set pieces. Lots of action, fights, chases and an overload of testosterone, if you are into that sort of thing. It is a must-watch in cinema if only to enjoy the sounds!

The biggest problem of the film is its third act. The film dragged when the characters arrived at Samora, and although a little bit of family history regarding the leads is nice, the movie could have skipped that part and ended sooner, and it would make for a better film-going experience.
Verdict
This film is like Deadpool 2 ‘once upon a Deadpool’ and Fast and Furious’ love child. Head over to Anga Diamond to get a taste of this action extravaganza.
